Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders at Buffalo Bisons

BUFFALO, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and Buffalo Bisons will open their 2026 International League schedules and renew their rivalry with a doubleheader Sunday at Sahlen Field, beginning in the afternoon and concluding under the lights.

The first game of the twin bill will feature a matchup of right-handers looking to build on strong, albeit brief, 2025 season finishes.

The RailRiders will send Carlos Lagrange to the mound. In his final appearance last September, Lagrange earned a win after allowing one earned run on four hits over four innings, striking out three in a 5-4 victory.

He will be opposed by Buffalo’s Chad Dallas, who took a loss in his last 2025 outing despite a solid performance. Dallas surrendered one earned run on three hits across three innings, fanning five batters in a 4-5 defeat.

Both clubs are beginning the season with 0-0 records. Their most recent action was last fall, with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre dropping a 7-4 decision to Jacksonville on Sept. 25. Buffalo last played on Sept. 21, 2025, falling 2-1 to these same RailRiders.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the opener is projected to be a high-scoring affair, favoring the RailRiders with a predicted final score of 6-4.

Following the doubleheader, the teams will embark on lengthy road trips. The RailRiders head to Rochester for a six-game series beginning Tuesday. The Bisons will travel to Omaha for a six-game set starting the same day.

First pitch for Game 1 is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. EDT.
