Columbus Clippers at Buffalo Bisons

BUFFALO, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Columbus Clippers and Buffalo Bisons, locked in a tight early-season divisional race, continue their series Wednesday at Sahlen Field with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. EDT under cloudy skies and a temperature near 53 degrees.

The Clippers (11-9) took the series opener 4-1 on Tuesday and will send right-hander Austin Voth (0-0) to the mound. Columbus has won four of its last five games, powered recently by a potent offense.

A key catalyst has been catcher Cooper Ingle, who is coming off a dominant performance Sunday. Ingle went 3 for 4 with two home runs and four RBIs in a 12-8 win over Iowa. Over his last ten games, he has four home runs and eight RBIs, providing a significant spark in the middle of the Columbus lineup.

The Bisons (10-10), looking to even the series and get back to .500, will counter with a bullpen game. A reliever to watch is right-hander Devereaux Harrison, who has been excellent in recent outings. On Sunday, Harrison fired two perfect innings with four strikeouts against Rochester. In his last three appearances, he has allowed just one hit over 5.2 innings with eight strikeouts, establishing himself as a reliable late-inning option for Buffalo.

Both teams enter the contest with identical winning percentages over their last ten games. The Clippers are 6-4 in that span, while the Bisons are 5-5. The simulated projection from Interstat forecasts a narrow 5-4 victory for Columbus.

Following Wednesday’s contest, the two International League rivals will meet four more times in this series, concluding Sunday. Columbus then returns home to face Toledo, while Buffalo hits the road for a six-game set at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
