BUFFALO, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and Buffalo Bisons will conclude a two-game, season-opening series Sunday at Sahlen Field, with first pitch scheduled for the evening.

The International League matchup comes after the teams played to a scoreless tie in frigid conditions Saturday afternoon. Both clubs enter Sunday’s game with 0-0 records to start the 2026 campaign.

The RailRiders are projected to send right-hander Chad Dallas to the mound. Buffalo’s probable starter is right-hander Carlos Lagrange. Official season records for the pitchers were not immediately available.

Weather could again be a factor, with game-time temperatures forecast near 33 degrees under cloudy skies.

Historically, recent meetings have been close. The last result between the teams, prior to Saturday’s stalemate, was a 2-1 RailRiders victory in Buffalo on Sept. 21, 2025. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s most recent action overall was a 7-4 loss at Jacksonville on Sept. 25, 2025, to conclude the 2025 schedule.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the RailRiders are favored to win Sunday’s contest with a projected final score of 5-3.

Following Sunday’s game, both teams embark on extended road trips. The RailRiders will travel to face the Rochester Red Wings for a six-game series beginning Tuesday. The Bisons will head west for a six-game series against the Omaha Storm Chasers, also starting Tuesday.

The RailRiders and Bisons are the Triple-A affiliates of the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays, respectively.
