Northern Oklahoma-Enid Upsets Chipola in Low-Scoring Affair

MARIANNA, Fla. (Interstat) — Northern Oklahoma-Enid defeated Chipola 64-50 in a men’s junior college basketball game Tuesday night, overcoming a significant statistical projection favoring the home team.

The Jets built a 10-point halftime lead and maintained control despite shooting just 34.4% from the floor. The Jets’ efficiency at the free-throw line, making 13 of 14 attempts, proved critical. The Indians struggled offensively, shooting 33.9% from the field and a dismal 3 for 17 from three-point range. Chipola’s 17 turnovers also hindered its efforts.

Gavin Barnard led Northern Oklahoma-Enid with 13 points and eight assists. Darian Grant added a team-high 17 points. For Chipola, Hedrens Bartelus recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Northern Oklahoma-Enid improved to 16-11. Chipola fell to 24-8.
