Eastern Wyoming vs Colorado Northwestern

RANGELY, Colo. (Interstat) — The Colorado Northwestern men’s basketball team will look to build on its momentum when it hosts the struggling Eastern Wyoming Lancers in a junior college matchup on Saturday.

The Spartans (2-2) are coming off an 89-74 road victory over Western Wyoming on Friday. The Lancers (1-5) are seeking to end a four-game losing streak, most recently a 102-62 defeat at Salt Lake on Friday.

Eastern Wyoming’s season has been defined by road woes, with all five of its losses coming away from home. Their sole victory was a 93-79 win at Miles on Nov. 6. The Lancers have struggled defensively, allowing an average of 83.5 points per game during their current skid.

Colorado Northwestern has shown a potent offense, scoring over 100 points in one game this season and putting up 89 in its last outing. The team’s performance has been inconsistent, however, with a 103-point offensive explosion against Southern Nevada followed by a 72-62 home loss to Arizona Western.

According to Interstat’s ELO system, the Spartans enter the contest as significant favorites, projected with a 70.20 percent probability to win. The game will be the final home contest for Colorado Northwestern before a two-game road trip. For Eastern Wyoming, it is the last chance to secure a road win before returning home for a two-game stand next week.
