GLENDIVE, Mont. (Interstat) — The Dawson men’s basketball team opens its 2025-26 season Saturday as the favorite against Lake Region State in a MonDak Pre-Conference Tournament game.

The Buccaneers are projected with a 64% probability to win by Interstat’s ELO system. Both teams enter the contest with 0-0 records.

Dawson will look to start the season on a high note after concluding its previous campaign with an 86-80 home loss to Williston State on Feb. 15, 2024.

The visiting Royals from North Dakota also aim to put a tough loss behind them. Their last outing was a narrow 89-86 double-overtime defeat at Bismarck State on Feb. 25, 2024.

The game marks the beginning of a challenging non-conference slate for both squads. Dawson’s upcoming schedule includes a trip to face Allegany (Md.) on Nov. 15, while Lake Region State embarks on a road swing to play Gillette on Nov. 28.

Tipoff is set for Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025.
