RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Interstat) — Michael Wright scored 26 points to guide the Cypress Chargers to an 88-82 victory over the Riverside Tigers in a California men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday night. Wright added nine rebounds for Cypress, which avenged a loss to Riverside from January.

Kollen Murphy led the Tigers with 23 points and seven rebounds. Both teams shot identically from three-point range, but Cypress built its margin at the free-throw line, making 20 of 27 attempts compared to Riverside’s 8 of 16.

The Chargers improved to 15-11, while the Tigers fell to an identical 15-11 overall record.
