MOORPARK, Calif. (Interstat) — The Moorpark Raiders defeated the Los Angeles Pierce Brahmas 92-72 in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday night.

Eric Kubel scored 21 points to lead Moorpark, which improved to 13-8. Roman Finney added 19 points and five assists. The Raiders used a 38-point first quarter to build a commanding lead and never trailed.

Kameron Fricks led Pierce with 22 points. The Brahmas fell to 5-16.

Moorpark controlled the game inside, outrebounding Pierce 50-36 and scoring 19 second-chance points off offensive rebounds. The Raiders’ defense held Pierce to just 2-of-12 shooting from three-point range.

Moorpark next plays at Santa Barbara on Saturday. Pierce travels to Ventura.
