SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (Interstat) — The San Bernardino Valley Wolverines defeated the Cerro Coso Coyotes 72-62 in a men’s junior college basketball game Saturday.

San Bernardino Valley used a strong first quarter, outscoring Cerro Coso 39-24, to establish a lead it would not relinquish. The visiting Coyotes won the second quarter 38-33 but could not overcome the early deficit. The victory improved the Wolverines’ record to 14-5 this season, while Cerro Coso fell to 4-12. The game was organized by the California Community College Athletic Association. Interstat’s ELO system had projected San Bernardino Valley with a 97.30 percent probability to win.
