East Georgia State vs Southern Crescent
Preview: East Georgia State Bobcats at Southern Crescent Tigers
GRIFFIN, Ga. (Interstat) — Two Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Wednesday when the East Georgia State Bobcats visit the Southern Crescent Tigers.
The game, scheduled for March 4, 2026, at Southern Crescent’s home court, features teams with contrasting recent fortunes despite both having losing records. The visiting Bobcats (10-17) enter on a modest uptick, having won three of their last five games, including an 87-82 victory over Andrew College on Feb. 28. The Tigers (2-17) are mired in a prolonged slump, having lost 12 consecutive games since their last win on Feb. 7.
East Georgia State will look to sophomore guard Evan Daniel to continue his strong play. Daniel is coming off an 18-point, 7-rebound performance in the win over Andrew and has averaged 11.2 points and 6.6 rebounds over his last five games where he saw significant minutes. His versatility will be key for the Bobcats’ offense.
Southern Crescent’s hopes will rest heavily on guard Austin Walker, who has been a consistent scorer during the difficult stretch. Walker is averaging 16.4 points over his last five outings, including a 20-point effort in a narrow 89-86 loss to Gordon State on Feb. 18. He will need support from a team that has struggled defensively, allowing an average of 88.6 points during its 12-game skid.
The teams met earlier this season on Jan. 28 in Swainsboro, with East Georgia State securing an 80-74 home victory. The Bobcats have shown more recent competitiveness, with several close losses and high-scoring wins, while the Tigers have faced a series of blowout defeats, including a 73-44 loss to South Georgia Tech on Feb. 25.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest is projected to be a high-scoring deadlock, with a predicted final score of 100-100.
Both teams will look to use this game as a springboard into their regular-season finales on Saturday, March 7. East Georgia State will host Central Georgia, while Southern Crescent will welcome Georgia Highlands.
