Commodores Edge Raiders in Tight Conference Showdown
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (Interstat) — The Gulf Coast State Commodores avenged an earlier loss by holding off the Northwest Florida State Raiders 72-65 in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday night.
The Commodores, now 19-6, used a consistent offensive effort, scoring 36 points in each half to build their advantage. The Raiders, who fell to 20-6, kept pace early but could not close the gap in the second half. The win splits the season series after Northwest Florida State won the previous two matchups.
Gulf Coast State’s Trent Lincoln led a balanced team performance. The Commodores were projected as favorites by Interstat’s ELO system. Northwest Florida State’s DJ Shine was a key contributor in the losing effort.
