Copiah-Lincoln vs Hinds
Preview: Copiah-Lincoln Wolves at Hinds Eagles
RAYMOND, Miss. (Interstat) — Two Mississippi junior college men’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Monday when the Copiah-Lincoln Wolves visit the Hinds Eagles.
The Wolves (9-9) and Eagles (8-12) enter the contest coming off narrow road losses to Northwest Mississippi within the past week. Copiah-Lincoln fell 105-87 on Saturday, while Hinds suffered a heartbreaking 98-97 defeat last Thursday.
Monday’s matchup will feature two of the region’s top individual performers. Copiah-Lincoln is led by Tyrell Bowles, who is coming off a dominant 28-point, 14-rebound effort in the loss to Northwest Mississippi. For Hinds, guard Terrance Clark has been on a scoring tear, averaging 22.5 points over his last two games, including a 25-point performance in the one-point loss to Northwest Mississippi.
The Wolves have struggled for consistency, alternating wins and losses over their last six games. Their most recent victory was a 63-59 overtime win against Meridian on Feb. 12. Hinds has shown flashes, winning two of its last three, including an 87-74 victory over Northeast Mississippi on Feb. 16 and an 83-66 win at Mississippi Delta on Feb. 14.
Historically, games in this rivalry are closely contested. Both teams will look to control the paint, with Bowles’ rebounding prowess for Copiah-Lincoln facing a Hinds frontcourt that features Clark and Colain Brown, who had 17 points and six rebounds in the last outing.
A key for Hinds will be protecting home court and improving its record in tight games, as five of its 12 losses have come by six points or fewer. Copiah-Lincoln aims to rebound from a defensive lapse after allowing 105 points in its previous game.
Tip-off is set for Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at Hinds Community College.
