(Interstat) — Gadsden State edged Calhoun 80-74 in a men’s junior college basketball game Monday night. The visiting Cardinals built a narrow halftime lead and maintained it after a high-scoring first half where both teams combined for 154 points. The win improved Gadsden State’s season record to 10-7 and completed a regular-season sweep after also defeating Calhoun on Feb. 9. The Warhawks fell to 13-9 with the loss, which came despite being a heavy pregame favorite according to statistical projections. Johnathan Johnson led Calhoun’s effort in the defeat.
