Gadsden State vs Calhoun

DECATUR, Ala. (Interstat) — A crucial Alabama Community College Conference men’s basketball rematch is set for Monday night when the Calhoun Warhawks host the Gadsden State Cardinals.

The game, scheduled for Feb. 23, 2026, comes just two weeks after Gadsden State (9-7) edged Calhoun (13-8) 88-84 on its home floor. That result will be fresh in the minds of both squads as they jockey for postseason positioning.

Calhoun enters with momentum, having won three of its last four games, including a decisive 104-81 road victory over Coastal Alabama on Thursday. The Warhawks boast a stronger overall record and have been formidable at home, with key wins this season against Wallace State and Lawson State in Decatur.

Gadsden State looks to rebound from a 94-73 loss at Lawson State on Thursday, which snapped a brief two-game winning streak. The Cardinals have shown a pattern of following a loss with a win in recent weeks and will aim to continue that trend. Their offense has been potent, scoring 87 or more points in seven of their last ten outings.

A player to watch for the Cardinals is guard Jaedin Reyna. After playing only one minute in the first meeting against Calhoun, his role has expanded dramatically. He is coming off a 38-minute, 16-point performance in a narrow loss to Wallace State on Feb. 16 and scored 20 points at Bishop State on Jan. 29. His increased production could be a key factor.

For Calhoun, Jackson Porch will look to make an impact. He saw limited action in the previous matchup against Gadsden State and in recent games, but the Warhawks have found success with a balanced attack, with six players scoring in double figures in their latest win.

The Warhawks will seek to defend their home court and avenge the earlier loss, while the Cardinals aim for a season sweep to climb above .500 in conference play. Following this game, Calhoun travels to Lawson State on Thursday, while Gadsden State hosts Bishop State.
