DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Interstat) — The Daytona State Falcons routed the Polk State Eagles 90-62 in a men’s junior college basketball game Saturday.

Daytona State seized control with a 44-point first quarter and led 90-62 at halftime, maintaining that margin through a scoreless second half in a game called due to unforeseen circumstances. The Falcons improved to 17-5 overall. The Eagles fell to 1-16.

The result diverged sharply from a national statistical projection that had forecast a tie. Daytona State also defeated Polk State 107-63 in their previous meeting Jan. 14.
