Laramie County vs Eastern Wyoming

Preview: Laramie County at Eastern Wyoming Men’s Basketball

TORRINGTON, Wyo. (Interstat) — A surging Laramie County Community College men’s basketball team will look to continue its climb above .500 when it visits struggling Eastern Wyoming College on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026.

The Golden Eagles (12-10) enter on a high note after a dominant 99-63 home victory over Northwest College on Saturday. In that win, sophomore guard Anthony Nettles delivered a spectacular performance, scoring 32 points in just one minute of action while adding three rebounds and four assists. He is averaging 32.0 points over his last game and will be the primary focus for the Lancers’ defense.

Laramie County has won four of its last five games, with the only loss in that span a narrow 85-83 defeat to Casper College. Their recent form contrasts sharply with that of their hosts.

Eastern Wyoming (5-19) has lost three consecutive games and 10 of its last 11. The Lancers’ most recent outing was a 102-62 road loss to Salt Lake Community College on Nov. 12, 2021, though more current results show a pattern of struggles. Their last win came on Jan. 24, a 65-61 victory over Central Wyoming.

A key player for the Lancers is Scott Noel, who has shown flashes of productivity. He posted 16 points and six rebounds in a Jan. 21 loss to Gillette College and had eight points against Northwest on Jan. 17. Consistency will be crucial for Noel and Eastern Wyoming to challenge the hotter Golden Eagles.

The teams share several common opponents this season. Laramie County defeated Northwest by 36 points, while Eastern Wyoming lost to the same opponent by 23. Both teams lost to Casper, though Laramie County’s defeat was a close two-point game compared to Eastern Wyoming’s 14-point loss.

This matchup is the first of two scheduled meetings between the Region IX rivals this month. They are slated to play again in Cheyenne on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Wednesday’s game tips off at 7:30 p.m. MST at the EWC Gymnasium. Eastern Wyoming will aim to leverage home court advantage to snap its skid, while Laramie County seeks to solidify its winning record and build momentum for the final stretch of the junior college season.
