GILLETTE, Wyo. (Interstat) — The Casper Thunderbirds upset the Gillette Pronghorns 83-76 in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday night. Casper’s Aaron Sievert led all scorers with 28 points.

The Thunderbirds used a strong first half, taking a six-point lead into halftime, and held off the Pronghorns despite Rashad McCormick scoring 28 points for Gillette. Casper forced 18 turnovers and outrebounded Gillette 47-44. The win improved Casper to 9-14, while Gillette fell to 11-10. Interstat’s ELO system had projected Gillette with a 77 percent probability to win.
