East Georgia State vs Central Georgia

CENTRAL GEORGIA TECH, Ga. (Interstat) — The Central Georgia Titans used a dominant offensive performance and a decisive second-quarter surge to rout the East Georgia State Bobcats 86-56 in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday night.

The game, played before a home crowd, was effectively decided in the second quarter. After leading 37-22 at the end of the first, the Titans exploded for 49 points in the second quarter while holding the Bobcats to 34, turning a competitive start into a lopsided affair. The 30-point margin of victory underscored Central Georgia’s control in all phases.

Central Georgia’s offense operated with high efficiency, shooting 47% from the field and a blistering 48% from three-point range, making 12 of 25 attempts. The Titans also won the battle on the boards, outrebounding East Georgia State 43-34, and protected the rim with seven blocked shots.

The offensive catalyst for the Titans was Roosevelt Brown, who delivered a star performance with 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists in 32 minutes. Brown’s scoring, particularly from beyond the arc, helped fuel the team’s explosive second quarter. He was supported by Robert Spaulding, who added 15 points off the bench, and Kaden Douglass, who chipped in 12 points and four assists.

East Georgia State struggled offensively throughout the contest. The Bobcats shot just 33% from the field and a frigid 19% from three-point range. They also converted only half of their 24 free throw attempts and committed 22 turnovers, which the Titans converted into numerous transition opportunities.

Kam’ron Jackson led the Bobcats with 13 points, while Adyn Grant added 14 points and four rebounds. Dakobe Cheatom pulled down a team-high nine rebounds in the losing effort.

The most important stretch of the game began early in the second quarter. With Central Georgia leading 40-23, the Titans embarked on a devastating 24-7 run over a five-minute span. The surge was powered by a barrage of three-pointers from Brown, Douglass and Spaulding, coupled with active defense that forced several Bobcat turnovers. By the time East Georgia State called a timeout with 13:34 remaining in the quarter, the Titans had built a 64-30 lead, effectively putting the game out of reach.

With the win, Central Georgia improved its season record to 8-5. East Georgia State fell to 6-14. The two teams are scheduled to meet again in the regular season finale at East Georgia State on March 7.

According to Interstat’s ELO system, Central Georgia entered the game with an 82.6% probability to win, a forecast borne out by the comprehensive nature of the victory. The Titans next play at South Georgia State on Saturday. The Bobcats travel to face Georgia Highlands the same day.
