Sauk Valley vs Indian Hills

OTTUMWA, Iowa (Interstat) — A stark contrast in momentum and record will be on display Saturday when the surging Indian Hills Warriors host the struggling Sauk Valley Skyhawks in a men’s junior college basketball matchup.

The Warriors (17-2), playing at home, enter as one of the nation’s hottest teams, having won 10 of their last 11 games. Their most recent outing was a dominant 85-60 victory over Kankakee on Jan. 28. Indian Hills is led by standout Chiang Ring, who posted a double-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks in that win. His rim protection and interior scoring will be a focal point for a deep and balanced Warriors squad.

Sauk Valley (9-6) seeks to rebound from a lopsided 82-61 home loss to Olive-Harvey on Jan. 24. The Skyhawks have lost two of their last three, with their only win in that span a narrow 59-58 road victory at Marshalltown. Player to watch Kuitim Heald logged just one minute in the loss to Olive-Harvey but contributed 2 points and 3 rebounds in 11 minutes in the win at Marshalltown. The Skyhawks will need a more consistent performance from their entire rotation to challenge the Warriors.

Despite the disparity in records, Interstat’s game simulator projects a high-scoring and even contest, forecasting a 100-100 final score. Such an outcome would require Sauk Valley to significantly elevate its play against one of the region’s elite teams.

Indian Hills holds a clear advantage in experience and recent form. The Warriors’ two losses this season came by a combined 10 points, while their average margin of victory is over 20 points. Sauk Valley’s road record includes both tight wins and narrow defeats.

Tipoff is set for Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at the Indian Hills gymnasium in Ottumwa. The teams are scheduled to meet again in three weeks on Feb. 21 at Sauk Valley.
