DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Interstat) — The Daytona State Falcons dominated the Hillsborough Hawks 75-54 in a men’s junior college basketball game Saturday. Daytona State seized control with a 32-point first quarter and maintained a double-digit lead throughout, entering halftime ahead 75-54. The Falcons’ defense stifled the Hawks, holding them to just 27 points in each half. With the victory, Daytona State improves its season record to 15-4. Hillsborough falls to 5-7. The Falcons were projected as strong favorites to win by statistical models. The two teams are scheduled to meet again in a rematch March 2 at Daytona State.
