Colorado Northwestern vs North Idaho
COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho (Interstat) — The North Idaho College Cardinal will look to even their conference record when they host the struggling Colorado Northwestern Spartans in a men’s junior college basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 24.
The Cardinal (8-8 overall) enter at .500 after a 106-82 home loss to Snow College on Jan. 17. North Idaho had won three of its previous four games, including a decisive 81-55 victory at Colorado Northwestern on Jan. 10.
North Idaho will rely on forward Ne’quan Brown, who is coming off a 25-point, 7-rebound performance against Snow. Brown was instrumental in the previous meeting with the Spartans, posting 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.
Colorado Northwestern (3-14) seeks to end a seven-game losing streak. The Spartans fell 87-68 at Salt Lake Community College in their last outing on Jan. 15. In that game, guard Jaden Fitzhugh led the team with 13 points and 5 rebounds in 26 minutes. Fitzhugh will be a key figure as the Spartans attempt to avenge their 26-point loss to the Cardinal earlier this month.
The Cardinal have shown potency at home this season, notably scoring 90 points in consecutive wins in early December. Colorado Northwestern’s road form has been a challenge, with their last away win coming on Dec. 12, 2024.
Saturday’s contest is the second of three scheduled meetings this season between the Scenic West Athletic Conference foes. They are scheduled to meet again in Rangely, Colorado, on Feb. 14.
Tip-off is set for Saturday at Christianson Gymnasium.
