(Interstat) — Cochise outlasted Central Arizona 95-92 in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday night. The visiting Apaches, led by Emmanuel Jo Samuel’s 29 points, held off a late charge from the Vaqueros’ Luke Leatherwood, who scored 24.

Cochise shot 50% from the floor and built a 40-48 halftime deficit into a second-half lead it would not relinquish. Central Arizona, despite shooting 47.3% and getting 20 points from Brayden Gant, was hampered by 24 fouls. Cochise improved to 8-7, while Central Arizona fell to 6-10.
