Southwestern Christian vs Ranger

Preview: Southwestern Christian at Ranger Men’s Basketball

RANGER, Texas (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking consistency will meet Wednesday when the Southwestern Christian Rams visit the Ranger Rangers.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. Central on Jan. 21, 2026.

Southwestern Christian (8-9) enters after a 77-56 home loss to Weatherford last Saturday. Prior to that, the Rams had won two of their last three, including a 72-64 victory at Hill on Jan. 10. Their season has been marked by streaks, with a three-game winning streak in early December followed by a four-game skid.

Ranger (5-11) looks to snap a three-game losing streak, most recently a 50-68 defeat at McLennan on Saturday. The Rangers’ last win was an 85-83 home victory over Collin County on Jan. 14.

A key player to watch is Ranger’s Cam Brown, who is coming off a strong performance in the loss to McLennan, scoring 17 points in 33 minutes. Earlier this month, Brown posted 21 points, five rebounds and five assists against Eastern Arizona.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest is projected to be a high-scoring and even affair, with a predicted final score of Ranger 100, Southwestern Christian 100.

The Rams have shown a capable offense at times, scoring 80 or more points in three games this season. Ranger’s defense, which has allowed an average of 76.6 points per game, will be tested.

This matchup is the first of a regular-season home-and-home series between the teams. They will meet again at Southwestern Christian on Feb. 21.

Following this game, Southwestern Christian will travel to face Temple on Saturday. Ranger’s next contest is at Grayson on Jan. 28.
