Holmes vs Copiah-Lincoln

Preview: Holmes Bulldogs at Copiah-Lincoln Wolves

WESSON, Miss. (Interstat) — The surging Holmes College Bulldogs, boasting one of the nation’s top junior college records, will put their 10-1 mark on the line Tuesday night when they visit the Copiah-Lincoln Wolves.

Tipoff is set for Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at Mullen Gymnasium.

Holmes, ranked in the latest NJCAA rankings, enters on a nine-game winning streak. Their most recent victory was a 95-85 home win over Northwest Mississippi on Thursday, fueled by 24 points from Markalon Rochell and 19 points from standout guard Trey Alexander.

Alexander has been a consistent force for the Bulldogs. In his last two games, he averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists. David Washington, who posted 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the last outing, provides additional backcourt stability.

The Wolves (6-4) aim to defend their home court after a narrow 69-68 road win at East Mississippi on Thursday. Copiah-Lincoln will rely on forward Tyrell Bowles, who recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Mississippi Delta on Jan. 12.

Holmes’s lone loss came in its season opener, 83-75 at East Mississippi on Nov. 10. Since then, the Bulldogs have dominated, with their closest contest being a 92-84 overtime win at Hinds on Dec. 5.

Copiah-Lincoln has shown resilience at home, with key non-conference wins over Shelton State and Baton Rouge earlier this season. Slowing down Holmes’s high-powered offense, which has scored 90 or more points in four games this season, will be the primary challenge for the Wolves’ defense.

This contest marks the only scheduled meeting between the two teams this regular season.

Next Games: Holmes hosts Pearl River on Thursday, Jan. 22. Copiah-Lincoln travels to face Itawamba on the same date.
