CHICAGO (Interstat) — The Kennedy-King Statesmen edged the Triton Trojans 85-84 in a men’s junior college basketball game Tuesday night. Triton led 48-47 at halftime but could not hold off the Statesmen in the second half.

Triton’s Terez Holmes posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Ethan Johnson led the Trojans with 20 points. Triton shot 46.3 percent from the floor and 44 percent from three-point range but committed 18 turnovers.

Kennedy-King improved to 4-7 overall. Triton fell to 8-8. The Statesmen avenged a November loss to the Trojans.
