TWIN FALLS, Idaho (Interstat) -- The College of Southern Idaho Eagles used a dominant first-half offensive display and a standout performance from Ace Reiser to overpower the Utah State Eastern Eagles 84-62 in a men’s junior college basketball game Saturday.

Southern Idaho established control early and never relented, improving its season record to 15-1. Utah State Eastern fell to 14-4.

The most critical phase of the game was the opening quarter, where Southern Idaho built an insurmountable lead. The home team erupted for 42 points in the first period, fueled by efficient shooting and relentless pressure. They connected on 11 of 25 three-point attempts for the game, with several coming early to stretch the defense. Utah State Eastern, meanwhile, managed 34 points in the quarter but struggled to get consistent stops.

Southern Idaho’s offensive execution was starkly more efficient. They scored 84 points on 70 possessions, an offensive rating of 119.3, while Utah State Eastern posted an offensive rating of 89.8 with 62 points on 69 trips. The disparity extended across the stat sheet. Southern Idaho outrebounded Utah State Eastern 40-31, dished out 11 assists to six, recorded 11 steals to six and blocked eight shots compared to three. Utah State Eastern also committed 14 turnovers against nine for the home team.

Reiser, the top star for Southern Idaho, led all scorers with 27 points. He added six rebounds, three assists and three steals, continuing a run of strong performances. Cooper Kesler supported him with 20 points, and Kobe Kesler added 13. Guygustone Kasenga anchored the interior defense with 13 rebounds and four blocks.

For Utah State Eastern, Bowen Davies came off the bench to score 10 points and grab five rebounds. Ike Palmer also scored 11 points, but the team’s overall shooting—24 of 53 from the floor and just 3 of 9 from three-point range—could not keep pace with Southern Idaho’s firepower.

The game’s outcome aligned with the pregame projection from Interstat’s ELO system, which gave Southern Idaho a 61 percent probability to win.
