CARTHAGE, Texas (Interstat) — The Panola Ponies defeated the Angelina Roadrunners 55-42 in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday night. Panola used a strong first quarter, outscoring Angelina 28-15, to establish a lead it would not relinquish. The teams played evenly in the second quarter, each scoring 27 points, but the early deficit proved too large for Angelina to overcome.

CJ Worsham led Panola with 11 rebounds and eight points. Aidan Agnew added a team-high 14 points. The victory improved Panola’s season record to 7-6, while Angelina fell to an even 6-6. The teams are scheduled to meet again in Angelina on Jan. 28.
