Vincennes vs Columbia State

Undefeated Vincennes Faces Columbia State in Classic Showdown

COLUMBIA, Tenn. (Interstat) — The unbeaten Vincennes Trailblazers put their perfect record on the line Saturday against a familiar foe, visiting the Columbia State Chargers in a marquee men’s junior college basketball matchup at the Columbia State Classic.

Vincennes (10-0) enters riding the momentum of a 65-58 victory over Roane State on Friday. The Trailblazers have dominated their schedule, winning by an average margin of 26.2 points. Their closest contest was an 87-80 road win at John A. Logan on Dec. 10.

Columbia State (6-1), whose only loss came against these same Trailblazers, looks to defend its home court and avenge an 81-68 defeat in Vincennes on Nov. 1. The Chargers have not played since a 72-55 win over Shelton State on Dec. 19, a 17-day layoff that could impact early rhythm.

The game features a premier individual matchup, spotlighting Vincennes guard Drae Vasser. The dynamic playmaker is coming off a near triple-double Friday, posting 21 points, nine rebounds and seven assists against Roane State. In the Dec. 10 win over John A. Logan, Vasser poured in 27 points with eight assists. He will be supported by Dayton Williams, who had 14 points and 14 rebounds in the latest win.

Columbia State counters with its own balanced attack, led by Jamison Glass’s 16-point, 11-rebound double-double against Shelton State. Kenny Ellis added 10 points, six rebounds and six assists in that contest.

History favors the Trailblazers, who have won seven straight in the series, including last season’s meeting. Both teams open crucial conference slates next week, making this a key final test of non-conference mettle.

Tip-off is set for Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026. Vincennes travels to face Shawnee on Jan. 7, while Columbia State hosts Walters State on Jan. 10.
