Chaffey vs Mount San Jacinto
MEN’S JUNIOR COLLEGE BASKETBALL PREVIEW
SAN JACINTO, Calif. (Interstat) — A surging Mount San Jacinto squad hosts a Chaffey team seeking consistency in a California community college men’s basketball matchup Saturday.
The Eagles (8-3) enter on a two-game win streak following a 96-81 victory over San Diego Mesa on Wednesday. Adrian Mosley powered that effort with 26 points and 10 rebounds, continuing a standout season. The forward is averaging 20.2 points and 7.5 rebounds over his last six contests, showcasing high-level scoring and all-around play.
Mount San Jacinto has won four of its last five, with the lone loss in that span a narrow 84-78 defeat to Ventura. The Eagles’ offense has been potent, scoring 90 or more points in four games this season.
The visiting Chaffey Panthers (5-6) are coming off a dominant 91-34 win over Imperial Valley on Thursday. Kajuan Thomas recorded a dominant double-double in that rout with 18 points and 15 rebounds in just 22 minutes. The forward has been a force on the glass, pulling down 10 or more rebounds in three of his last seven games.
However, Chaffey has struggled for rhythm, alternating wins and losses over its past five games. Prior to the blowout of Imperial Valley, the Panthers fell 87-83 to Oxnard and 82-59 to Mount San Antonio.
This contest represents the first of two regular-season meetings between the Inland Empire programs. They will meet again at Chaffey on Jan. 24, 2026.
For Mount San Jacinto, a win would solidify its strong start and build momentum before a road game at Copper Mountain next Wednesday. Chaffey aims to build a winning streak and level its record before hosting San Bernardino Valley on Dec. 17.
Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13, at Mount San Jacinto College.
