LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — Los Angeles City edged El Camino 71-68 in a men’s junior college basketball game Friday night. The Cubs improved to 2-6 while the Warriors fell to 6-3.

Kai Johnson led El Camino with 27 points. Rocco Gaffoglio added 21, including three early 3-pointers. Kye Usher-Brown paced Los Angeles City with 24 points. Devean Mpoupe-Singui had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The game was close throughout, with both teams scoring 41 points in the second half after Los Angeles City held a 30-27 first-half edge. The Cubs secured the win at the free-throw line in the final seconds.
