RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Interstat) — A pair of 4-win men’s junior college basketball teams will meet Wednesday when the Riverside City Tigers host the East Los Angeles Huskies in the RCC Tournament.

East Los Angeles (4-2) enters on a three-game win streak, most recently outlasting Compton 100-97 on Nov. 21. Terrence Hampton led that effort with 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists. The Huskies’ two losses came by a combined six points.

Riverside (4-3) snapped a two-game skid with a 73-57 win over Chaffey on Nov. 26, powered by PJ Pounds’ 22 points and 10 rebounds. The Tigers have shown volatility, with wins by 24 and 25 points but losses by 27 and 32.

The Huskies’ offense, averaging 85.5 points per game, will test a Riverside defense that has allowed 73.4. The matchup features two of the state’s competitive programs looking to build momentum in the non-conference tournament.

Riverside hosts Mount San Jacinto on Thursday, while East Los Angeles travels to San Bernardino Valley on Saturday.
