MONROE (Interstat) — The Monroe Mustangs defeated the Hagerstown Hawks 84-65 in a men’s junior college basketball game Sunday.

Monroe established a decisive lead in the first half, outscoring Hagerstown 43-27 in the opening quarter and taking an 84-65 advantage into halftime. The Mustangs’ offense proved too consistent for the Hawks to overcome.

The victory improved Monroe’s overall record to 7-4. Hagerstown fell to 1-7 with the loss, which followed a defeat to the same Mustangs team just over two weeks prior. Nick Williams led Monroe’s key performances.
