(Interstat) — Midland remained undefeated Friday night, defeating Mineral Area 89-79 in a men’s junior college basketball game. The visiting Chaparrals built a commanding lead with 43 first-half points and held off a second-half push from the Cardinals. Antoine Bo Hurns led all scorers with 27 points and added eight rebounds for Midland, which improved to 12-0. Nassir Binion scored 26 points for Mineral Area, which fell to 6-4. The Cardinals outscored Midland 54-46 after halftime but could not overcome the early deficit.
