Holmes vs Hinds
RAYMOND, Miss. (Interstat) — The Holmes Bulldogs, riding a four-game winning streak, will visit the struggling Hinds Eagles in a men’s junior college basketball game Friday.
Holmes (5-1) arrives with momentum after a 90-67 rout of Baton Rouge on Wednesday. Markalon Rochell led the way with 23 points and five rebounds, while Isaiah Patrick added 20 points and six boards. The Bulldogs’ only loss came in their season opener.
Hinds (2-4) looks to halt a three-game skid, most recently a 76-72 home loss to Southern-Shreveport on Tuesday. Terrance Clark, Austin Ratliff and Colain Brown all scored in double figures in the defeat.
The Eagles’ two wins this season came in early November. They will need to contain a balanced Holmes attack that has shown the ability to win on the road, including a narrow 68-67 victory at Southern-Shreveport on Nov. 22.
Friday’s contest is the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams. They are scheduled to meet again at Holmes on Feb. 5.
After this game, Holmes travels to Northwest Mississippi on Monday. Hinds will host Delgado that same night.
