(Interstat) — MALCOLM X defeated Triton 68-57 in a men’s junior college basketball game Thursday. The Hawks improved to 4-2, while the Trojans fell to 3-4.

The game turned decisively in the second quarter. After a competitive first period, Malcolm X outscored Triton 40-36 before halftime, building a lead the Trojans could not overcome despite 21 points from Terez Holmes and a 13-point, 11-rebound effort from Keashawn Jordan. Triton struggled offensively, shooting just 30 percent from the floor and 55.6 percent from the free-throw line.
