CHICAGO (Interstat) — The Triton College Trojans and Malcolm X College Hawks, both seeking to break above .500, will meet in a men’s junior college basketball game on Thursday, Dec. 4.

The Trojans (3-3) visit the Hawks (2-2) in a non-conference matchup. Triton enters following a 16-day break since its last outing, an 83-74 home victory over Kennedy-King on Nov. 18. That win snapped a two-game skid for the Trojans.

Malcolm X has been off since a 71-56 home win over Richard J. Daley on Nov. 25. The Hawks have won two straight after opening the season with losses on the road at Indian Hills and Coffeyville.

Triton’s recent win was fueled by strong interior play. Arnas Samaitis recorded 16 rebounds and three blocks, while Cortez Abel added eight rebounds and five blocks. Aaron McClure contributed 10 points and six rebounds in the effort.

Following this game, Triton will host Sauk Valley on Saturday, Dec. 6. Malcolm X travels to face Highland (Ill.) on the same day. The teams are scheduled to meet again in River Grove on Thursday, Feb. 19.
