Trinidad State vs Frank Phillips
BORGER, Texas (Interstat) — The Trinidad State Trojans and Frank Phillips Plainsmen will meet for the second time this season in a men’s junior college basketball game Tuesday, looking to build momentum after a pair of slow starts.
The visiting Trojans (4-6) enter on a high note, coming off a 75-73 road victory over Central Wyoming on Saturday. That win snapped a two-game skid for Trinidad State.
The Plainsmen (3-6), meanwhile, seek to rebound from a 73-69 loss to Lamar last Friday. Their last win came on Nov. 25 against North Platte.
This matchup is a quick rematch of a thrilling contest from Nov. 19, when the Trojans edged the Plainsmen 102-100. Both teams have struggled for consistency since, setting the stage for another competitive encounter in the Plainsmen’s home gym.
Trinidad State’s offense has shown it can score in bunches, led by recent standouts Bryceson Dobie (20 points, 5 assists) and Jerry Pepin (12 points, 11 rebounds) from the previous meeting between the two teams. Frank Phillips will counter by looking to defend its home court and even the season series.
Tip-off is set for Tuesday night.
