RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (Interstat) — Two California men’s junior college basketball teams seeking to climb back to .500 will meet Wednesday when the Los Angeles Trade Tech Beavers visit the Chaffey Panthers.

Both teams enter the non-conference matchup with identical 1-2 records across all competitions.

The Beavers are coming off their first win of the season, a 78-61 home victory over Shasta on Saturday. That performance followed two narrow losses to open the season, falling to Chabot 74-70 and Alameda 85-84.

Semaj Morrison leads Los Angeles Trade Tech after scoring 23 points in the win over Shasta. He was supported by Kajuan Thomas, who pulled down eight rebounds, and Avery Garcia, who dished out four assists.

Chaffey looks to rebound from a 95-72 road loss to Santiago Canyon on Friday. The Panthers’ lone win was an 85-84 season-opening victory over Cerritos, which was followed by a 102-81 loss to Santa Ana.

The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. tipoff at Chaffey College.
