SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (Interstat) — The Miles College Pioneers (2-3) look to build on their first win in nearly a month when they visit the struggling Western Nebraska Community College Cougars (1-7) in a men’s junior college basketball game Monday.

Miles ended a three-game skid with an 83-75 home victory over Gillette on Nov. 8, led by Shad Boyce’s 19 points and 10 rebounds. Azenio Cossa added 14 points, five assists and two blocks for the Pioneers, who had not won since their season opener on Nov. 1.

Western Nebraska enters on a six-game losing streak, most recently falling 99-81 at Salt Lake Community College on Friday. In that contest, Isaiah St. Preux scored 20 points for the Cougars, while Amare Jackson and Xavier Kirkpatrick each added 16 points.

The Cougars’ lone win this season came against Eastern Wyoming on Nov. 11.

Despite the teams’ combined 3-10 record, Interstat’s game simulator projects a tightly contested matchup, forecasting a 100-100 final score.

The game will tip off at Cougar Palace in Scottsbluff.
