LEVELLAND, Texas (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Friday when the Lamar Runnin’ Lopes face the Western Texas Westerners in the WTC Classic.

Lamar (2-4) enters the contest following a narrow 88-85 home loss to South Plains on Nov. 15. Christian Payawal led the Runnin’ Lopes with 20 points and five assists, while RJ Foreman added 22 points. The team has shown offensive flashes, scoring 92 and 101 points in its two victories this season.

Western Texas (2-5) looks to rebound from an 82-70 home loss to Weatherford on Tuesday. Isak Homelius paced the Westerners with 13 points and four assists in that contest. The Westerners’ two wins came against Lee College and Murray State (Okla.).

A statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a high-scoring affair, simulating a 100-100 final score.

The game is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 21, 2025.
