BRENHAM, Texas (Interstat) — The Midland Chaparrals remained undefeated Friday night, overpowering the Blinn Buccaneers 88-66 in a men’s junior college basketball game. Midland improved to 7-0, while Blinn fell to 2-1.

The Chaparrals built a commanding lead by halftime, outscoring Blinn 44-33 in each of the first two quarters. The victory was an upset according to Interstat’s ELO system, which had projected Blinn as the favorite. Cayden Reed led Midland with 14 points and three assists. Nicholas Anthony added a team-high 16 points. Dashawn Ceaser led Blinn with 16 points in the loss.
