Lawson State vs Jones

JONES, Miss. (Interstat) — The Jones Bobcats, off to a perfect start, will look to continue their winning ways when they host the struggling Lawson State Cougars in a men’s junior college basketball game on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025.

Jones enters the contest with a 2-0 record across all competitions following an 87-78 road victory over Bishop State on Thursday. The Bobcats’ offense has been potent, also notching a 99-85 win over Three Rivers on Nov. 11.

Lawson State, conversely, seeks to halt a three-game skid that has dropped its record to 1-3. The Cougars are coming off a 71-64 home loss to Itawamba on Saturday. Their season began with a win at Itawamba on Nov. 3, but they have since suffered lopsided losses to Northwest Florida State and Pensacola State.

The matchup pits Jones’ high-scoring attack against a Lawson State team that has shown vulnerability on defense, having allowed an average of 88.3 points during its current losing streak.

This game is the first of a home-and-home series between the two teams, who are scheduled to meet again at Lawson State on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
