MIDLAND (Interstat) — The Midland Chaparrals defeated the Trinity Valley Cardinals 75-62 in a men’s junior college basketball game Friday. Midland improved to 4-0, while Trinity Valley fell to 2-1.

A decisive second quarter proved the difference as Midland outscored Trinity Valley 43-40 after the first quarter ended with the Chaparrals leading 32-22. Midland’s efficiency from beyond the arc was critical, making 10 of 20 three-point attempts compared to Trinity Valley’s 2-of-20 shooting from deep. Nicholas Anthony led Midland with 16 points. Armani Henderson was the top scorer for Trinity Valley with 15 points.
