MIDLAND, Texas (Interstat) — Two undefeated men’s junior college basketball teams will clash Friday when the Midland Chaparrals host the Trinity Valley Cardinals in an East/West Challenge matchup.

The Chaparrals (3-0) enter the contest fresh off a 90-74 victory over Salt Lake on Nov. 9, where Antoine Bo Hurns led the way with 22 points and six rebounds. Darius Carr added 21 points in the win. Midland’s high-powered offense has averaged over 94 points per game in its perfect start.

Trinity Valley (2-0) counters with a stifling defense that held Grayson to just 47 points in a 73-47 road win on Nov. 8. Didi Zanguim recorded a double-double in that contest with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Armani “Mani” Henderson dished out six assists.

The game pits Midland’s explosive scoring against a Trinity Valley squad that has won its first two games by an average margin of 27 points. Both teams face a quick turnaround, with Trinity Valley scheduled to play at Clarendon on Saturday and Midland set to host Lamar State-Port Arthur the same day.
