PLANO, Texas (Interstat) — The Collin County Cougars, fresh off a season-opening victory, will host the Lamar State-Port Arthur Seahawks in a men’s junior college basketball game Friday at the East West Challenge.

Collin County (1-0) began its season with a 78-66 road win over Eastern Oklahoma State on Nov. 6. The Cougars’ balanced attack will look to continue its momentum against a Seahawks squad that has yet to play a game this season.

Lamar State-Port Arthur (0-0) opens its 2025-26 campaign after concluding the previous season with a 97-70 loss at Blinn on March 6, 2024. The Seahawks will rely on the trio of Kevin Paul, Jayden Ramnanan and Nick Gunter, who were the team’s most productive players in that finale. Paul recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The non-conference matchup serves as a season debut for Lamar State-Port Arthur and the second game of the year for Collin County. The Cougars will host Angelina on Saturday, while the Seahawks travel to face Midland.
