Eastern Wyoming vs Miles

MILES, Mont. (Interstat) — The Miles Community College men’s basketball team looks to get back on track Thursday when it hosts the struggling Eastern Wyoming Lancers.

The Pioneers (1-1) are coming off a 115-75 home loss to Dawson on Sunday, a defeat that followed a narrow 104-100 season-opening victory over Williston State. Miles will look to tighten its defense after allowing an average of 109.5 points in its first two contests.

They will face an Eastern Wyoming squad (0-2) searching for its first win. The Lancers are looking to rebound from a 102-62 road loss to Salt Lake this past Friday and a 76-61 defeat at McCook on Oct. 31.

Key performers for the Lancers in their last outing included Azenio Cossa, who scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and Uwami Chongo, who added 11 points.

Despite the teams’ contrasting recent results, a projection from Interstat’s game simulator anticipates a tightly contested matchup, forecasting a 100-100 final score.

Thursday’s game is the first of two scheduled meetings between the junior college programs this season, with the Pioneers set to host the Lancers again on Nov. 28.
