Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa 71, at Ranger 68

RANGER, Texas (Interstat) — The Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa men’s basketball team edged Ranger 71-68 in a junior college contest Tuesday night. The Mavericks improved to 2-0, while the Rangers fell to 0-2. Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa built a narrow 71-68 lead by the final buzzer after holding a 35-33 advantage at halftime. Jaydon Awe led the Mavericks with 10 points and eight rebounds. Caison Cole added a team-high 14 points in the win. Ranger, which was projected as the favorite by Interstat’s ELO system, could not complete a comeback in the closing moments. The Mavericks next play at Cowley on Nov. 11. Read more...
