THATCHER, Ariz. (Interstat) — The Eastern Arizona men’s basketball team looks to build on a season-opening victory when it hosts Barton on Saturday.

The Gila Monsters (1-0) edged Gillette 73-69 at home on Friday. They will face a Barton squad playing its first game of the season.

Interstat’s ELO system projects Eastern Arizona with a 65.7% probability to win.

The Barton Cougars (0-0) last took the court in a competitive game on March 30, 2024, defeating Triton 88-73. This contest marks the beginning of their 2025-26 campaign.

Following this game, Eastern Arizona embarks on a two-game road trip, facing Snow on Nov. 7 and Utah State Eastern on Nov. 8. Barton continues its season at Mineral Area on Wednesday, Nov. 5, before its home opener against State Fair on Nov. 11.
