DOUGLAS, Ariz. (Interstat) — The Cochise Apaches routed the Community Christian Saints 107-40 in a men’s junior college basketball game Friday. Cochise opened with a 57-point first quarter and never looked back, overwhelming the Saints from the start. The Apaches shot 61 percent from the floor and outrebounded Community Christian 50-24. Davon Jones led a balanced Cochise attack with 16 points. Amari Callender scored 11 points for the Saints. Cochise begins the season 1-0, while Community Christian starts 0-1. The teams are scheduled to play again Saturday.
