Doane (NE) vs Waldorf

FOREST CITY, Iowa (Interstat) — Two NAIA men’s basketball teams seeking to halt lengthy slides will meet Saturday when the Doane Tigers visit the Waldorf Warriors at Hanson Fieldhouse.

Doane (7-14) enters on a seven-game losing streak, while Waldorf (3-19) has dropped eight of its last nine. The matchup offers a chance for either struggling program to build momentum in the final weeks of the season.

The Warriors won the first meeting this season, edging Doane 83-82 on Jan. 10. That narrow victory provides a psychological edge for the home team, but both squads have found consistent wins hard to come by since.

A key player for Doane will be Jack Wilson. The forward is coming off a season-high 20-point performance in an 84-81 overtime loss to Dakota Wesleyan on Feb. 8, adding five rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Wilson’s production has fluctuated, but his ability to contribute across multiple categories makes him a focal point for the Tigers’ offense.

Waldorf will counter with guard Cohen Aldridge, who dished out a season-best seven assists in the Warriors’ 94-87 loss to Dakota Wesleyan on Feb. 11. Aldridge’s playmaking will be crucial against a Doane team that has suffered several close defeats, including three losses by three points or fewer during its current skid.

Both teams are dealing with defensive challenges. Doane has allowed an average of 81.1 points per game during its seven-game losing streak. Waldorf’s defense has been even more porous, conceding 90 or more points in six of its last nine contests.

The game could hinge on which team can muster a timely defensive stand. For Doane, finding a way to replicate its Jan. 14 road victory at Midland, a 63-point defensive effort, will be the goal. For Waldorf, protecting home court and sweeping the season series would provide a bright spot in a difficult campaign.

Tipoff is set for Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, in Forest City.
